Eyes to Burma is a small community-based organization assisting the vibrant community of Burmese migrant workers and economic refugees who live and work at and around a rubbish dump in Mae Sot, Thailand.
Working daily within the community, our projects include student sponsorship, on-site classes, clean water, food assistance, transportation to medical facilities, and more.
Our practice is to purchase needed goods for projects from local businesses. This allows your donation to stretch very far while promoting the local economy of Mae Sot, Thailand.
Non-religious and non-political, ETB’s projects and approach are guided by our beliefs about the importance of access to education and health care; helping families so they can stay together; respecting cultural practices; empowering people to help themselves and each other; looking after the elderly; and giving children a chance to be kids.
ETB is a 501(c)(3) non-profit with Board members based in Ashland, Oregon, USA, and grass-roots fundraising efforts spanning 19 countries, including friends like Aussie Friends of Eyes to Burma and Ride High Foundation.
As a direct-aid organization with volunteers and Burmese staff, 100% of donations go to the projects for the community.
